Chart notes
PETERSON LANDING tracked the leaders into the stretch the first time while racing along the inside, maintained her position in the run down the backstretch while continuing to save ground, launched her bid from along the inside entering the final turn, moved through at the rail entering the stretch to quickly take control and drew clear late as much the best. FLYING MISS broke sharply and raced to the lead from along the rail entering the stretch the first time, set a pressured pace into the backstretch from the inside of CHABI, disposed of that rival approaching the final turn but was quickly engaged by A LITTLE MERCY NOW, drifted off the rail allowing PETERSON LANDING to rush to the lead, and finished four wide in the drive to prove second best. FOREVER SUMMER was unprepared at the start, and reared up while still in the hands of the assistant starter, trailed the field through the stretch the first time, continued to bide her time at the back of the pack in the run down the backside, rallied two wide entering the final turn, and finished with late interest one out from the rail in the drive. CHABI away alertly and pressed the pace from the outside of FLYING MISS through the stretch the first time, continued to force the issue from the outside of that rival in the run down the backstretch, was unable to keep tabs on that rival entering the final turn, and weakened over the final furlong. A LITTLE MERCY NOW away well and tracked the leaders through the stretch the first time while racing two out from the rail, held her position in the run down the backside, engaged the pacesetter three wide entering the final turn, but flattened out in the late going. Following the running of this race the stewards conducted an inquiry into the start of the race. After review, it was deemed that FOREVER SUMMER DID NOT receive a fair start, and ordered a full refund on this horse. FOREVER SUMMER ran for purse money only.
