Chart notes
AK SAR BEN DERBY unhurried in the early going to be near the rear of the field, gained ground from three wide on the final turn, forced his way out at the top of the lane bumping TELESCOPIC, rallied well when in the clear mid-stretch and was up in the final strides. HIGGINS BOAT tracked the leaders from the rail into the far turn, gained on the pacesetters on the bend to be well placed turning for home, took the lead from the tiring pacesetter inside the eighth pole and was caught on the wire. OSCAR SEASON reserved mid-pack down the backside, rallied six wide at the head of the lane, was brushed in upper stretch when TELESCOPIC was forced out by the winner and finished willingly through the lane. TELESCOPIC rated off pace for the run down the backside, gained ground from five wide on the far turn to be in striking distance turning for home, was forced out and bumped by the winner in upper stretch and kept-on through the lane with good interest. CRYSTAL QUEST slow early to be at the back of the field, gained on the outside through the final bend and rallied from nine wide down the lane with a late gain. BAXLEY set a pressured pace for three-quarters, dug-in down the lane when challenged and gave-in late in the drive. TOUGH LITTLE NUT raced mid-pack five wide from between rivals in traffic down the backstretch and failed to mount a closing bid when called upon. ROCK'N A HALO trailed most of the trip and passed weaker rivals in the lane with a mild rally. T'CHALLA (GB) pressed the pace to midway on the final turn and faded. HAWKS CREEK saved ground along the fence down the backside, was in tight against the rail into the turn, angled out through traffic turning for home and had nothing left for the drive. ALOTALUCK stalked the pace to midway on the turn from three wide to be prominent and tired down the lane. TOUR QUEEN raced in contention to the final turn and gradually dropped to the rear of the field. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE ACTION AT THE TOP OF THE LANE AND UPON REVIEW MADE NO CHANGE.
