Chart notes
SEPTEMBER MAGIC sped clear and moved inside, set the tone up the backstretch, remained unchallenged through the far turn, set down at the top of the stretch, asked right handed approaching the eighth pole, switched to the left in the final furlong and held safely. NANCI GRIFFITH settled along the rail, moved off the fence on the backstretch, took aim two then three wide around the far turn, drifted in from upper to midstretch and finished willingly to secure second. CHEEKIEST traveled near the back on the inside, moved into range on the far turn, hugged the rail to the stretch, chased within striking distance through the lane but finished evenly late. MARINAS TINA (IRE) sat off the pace in the two path, gained ground through the far turn, moved out in the lane and could not summon the needed late kick. SWEET VENGEANCE stalked the lone leader in the two path, closest in pursuit to the far turn, took aim still two wide around the bend but weakened in the stretch run. MATURITY DATE brushed the gate, became rank and took up early, trailed in the two path then outside rivals, fought the rider a bit on the backstretch, saved ground through the far turn, roused entering the lane but offered no response and was not persevered with in the final furlong.
