Chart notes
GHOSTLY SPITFIRE had a good spot tucked in on the rail, waited patiently inside through the far turn, shifted out off the dueling leaders five wide in upper stretch, dug in at the eighth pole and wore down rivals late for the win. CALUSA DONNIE broke in on the start, stalked near the rear inside in the early stages, started to rally shifting outside between foes midway around the last turn, angled back in on the rail by upper stretch and with a solid late surge on the fence made it a race at the finish. SHAMATEUR took command into the first turn, remained up top down the backside setting even splits, was collared outside at the quarter pole, stubbornly fought on to the finish, could not handle the winner late but did stay on to save the show award in the end. MY MUNNINGS MODEL had a tracking position in the early going between foes, edged closer when roused at the quarter pole outside to poke his head in front three wide turning for home but needed more late and faded in deep stretch to garner a minor share. PHANTOM JEWEL tossed his head at the start to trail in the beginning, improved between foes on the initial turn to settle in mid-pack down the backside, kept pace with the leaders through the final turn, shifted out three wide for the drive and finished up gradually to the wire. SMART ALMASTY stalked close to the back outside of a rival, made a brief run four wide advancing at the five sixteenths marker, shifted out to the five path turning for home and was one paced down the stretch. PENNYJET travelled outside foes in mid-division, dropped behind running down the back straight, made no headway on the final bend, angled six wide but lacked a rally in the stretch. TAKE CHANCES was brushed outside to trail into the first turn, improved between foes around the first turn to settle in midfield along the backside, made an early move on the rail to improve position at the half, was going the wrong way saving round on the far turn and could not be a factor running on the fence down the lane. PLAY THE DOTS watched the pacesetter outside in the first turn, continue to keep a close eye three deep down the backside, was scrubbed on three wide with three eighths to go, could not keep up with others, backed through the field around the final bend and was empty for the drive to the wire.
