Chart notes
COLONEL COOPER sprinted up the inside to make the lead at the half mile pole, set the balance of the pace under pressure and wore down rivals in a game effort. PROFESSOR NICK matched strides with the winner two wide and finished second best. EL FAITE wouldn't load in the gate, saved ground through the turn, lugged in through upper stretch, was well handled, angled out three wide late and steadily gained ground through the final stages. DRILL'S BOY stumbled at the start, gained the early advantage, was headed at the half mile marker, prompted the pace into the stretch then weakened readily. JOHN FITZGERALD reluctant to load, stalked the pace four wide and was through after a half. REMIX FROM PHOENIX was outrun. BOSS HOG was no factor.
