Chart notes
RUFFIN allowed to settle, circled rivals four wide into the stretch, drifted in a bit before the furlong marker and proved best while fully extended under left handed urging. MR LOOOCH trailed while saving ground into the stretch, altered course four wide inside the furlong marker and was steadily gaining on the winner late in a determined effort. SIMPLY VALID dueled for the lead along the inside, drifted out a bit entering the stretch, kept on until deep stretch then weakened. FACT NOT FICTION stalked the early pace, began to rallied three wide into the stretch, was in tight between rivals causing his rider to check nearing the furlong marker and lost momentum. COURTHOUSE COVE contested the lead two wide into the stretch, drifted out a bit before the furlong marker then weakened in the final stages. THE STEWARDS POSTED THE INQUIRY SIGN AND THE RIDER OF FACT NOT FICTION LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER OF THE WINNER FOR INTEREFERENCE IN UPPER STRETCH. AFTER REVIEW THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED RUFFIN AND PLACED HIM FOURTH.
