Chart notes
SEATTLE CAUSEWAY seized command inside from the onset, slowed the tempo down along the backside, edged away with three furlongs to go, was then headed outside by the relentless challenger in upper stretch, had another gear when urged for more by mid-stretch and opened back up with a sixteenth left to win comfortably at the finish. HOLIDAY WITH AMY had a stalking position near the rear, started to commence a rally on the fence three furlongs out, shifted outside three wide at the quarter pole gathering speed and closed in belatedly late to get up for the runners up share just before the finish line. LIZZIES GIRL was content to track the pacesetter in the first turn, continued to measure the frontrunner down the backside, took closer order two wide with a quarter mile from home to threaten outside in upper stretch, could not match strides with the winner by the furlong pole and just missed holding on for the place at the wire. TURF AND SURF could see the field into the first turn, caught up to runners three deep by the half, shuffled back to last running through the far turn, shifted out six wide straightening out for home and won the duel for the minors down the lane. ITS A BIRDIE had a good position all alone watching the front two runners in the early stages, came under a ride three wide between foes midpoint on the final turn but was going in the wrong direction, angled out four wide turning for home but could not factor driving to the finish line. SERENADING HALL stalked close to the back of the pack two wide on the outside entering the initial bend, was part of the trio at the rear while between foes at the half, was roused with five sixteenths to go but made no improvement around the turn and had little to show on the fence in the stretch running.
