Chart notes
WINE AND WHISKY broke well and stalked OH GREAT (IRE) from the start, challenged for the lead from the three furlong marker, met little resistance, came into the stretch with a slight lead, finished strong under steady handling and won clear, holding off a late charge from the runner-up. MARKSMAN ON TARGET was caught three wide into the first turn then tracked in third position down the backstretch, launched a four to five wide bid into the stretch and finished well but was unable to catch the winner. POUR ON THE COLE was under a hold through the first turn, went three wide while racing at the back of the pack, started a sustained rally after passing the seven-sixteenths marker, came about three wide into the stretch and was outfinished by the top pair while finishing well clear of the next horse. LOOKOUT POINT was not asked for speed from the break, dropped well behind down the backstretch and had to be ridden so as not to lose contact with the field, ran on under steady handling and improved some in the stretch but was still well behind the top three. OH GREAT (IRE) was hustled from the start and won the race to the first turn led the field to the far turn while being hounded by WINE AND WHISKY, had no response when that foe challenged with three furlongs to run then tired in the stretch. WALKING BOSS was allowed to settle from the break, moved to the rail, was mid-pack to the five-eighths pole then dropped far behind and lacked a bid. ACCLIDER was caught four wide into the first turn, tracked about six wide down the backstretch, was making a bid on the far turn, lost action and was pulled up before the quarter pole and was transported off the track via the equine ambulance. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time. Total Attendance: 4922 Handle: $992,609
