Chart notes

CONFUSING broke out on the start, was coaxed early to take control into the first turn, set an even split loose on the lead down the backside, was headed outside at the top of the lane, had something left for the drive and held all challengers at bay late for the front-running tally. ASK IN MY NAME made a savvy move getting a good position from the outside draw to track three wide into the first turn, watched the loose frontrunner outside in the second flight down the backstretch, closed in by the three-furlong pole, bid four wide turning for home but chased the winner in vain down the stretch while not switching leads to just hold on late for the runners up share, besting the rest at the finish line. DESOLATOR stalked on the inside of rivals near the back of the pack, took closer order between foes by the half, picked up the bit going around runners three wide at the quarter pole and with a late stretch rally almost closed in for the place share at the wire. ANSELMO travelled three deep in midfield, ranged up three wide on the outside three furlongs from home, had a chance for a small share of the prize seven wide at the top of the lane, kept on coming until the end and got up late to be a fringe player. TIMESKIP was nestled on the fence behind the pacesetter, could not go with the top two finishers even though scrubbed on for more three furlongs from the wire and finished up willingly on the rail down the lane battling for a minor placing. STOP THE HUMBUG broke in on the start, travelled between foes in the two path in mid-division, closed the margin on the leader down the backside, waited for the cue on the fence in the final bend, had a clear lane two wide with a furlong remaining but failed to fire in deep stretch. H C HOLIDAY was pinched between foes on the break, tracked all alone keeping a close eye on the front three runners down the backside, moved in to chase the frontrunner three wide on the outside around the last turn, angled four wide at the top of the stretch and was one paced to the finish line. SIR SAMUEL missed the break on the start, stalked at the rear ahead of one rival along the backside, offered a mild run two wide between foes with three furlongs to go until in the four path turning for home, could not continue on and stalled by the furlong marker. NONNO'S LITTLE BOY was unhurried trailed in the early stages, could not offer a rally in the running around the final turn, swung out widest in the seven path for the drive and did manage to pass a couple of weary foes in deep stretch. MAMBOINTHEFOREST settled in mid-pack on the rail, could not quicken with others outside making a move at the three eighths pole while taking the short route around the last turn and could not factor two wide in the stretch running. KIDDIE HOLIDAY travelled four wide in midfield into the first bend, settled near the rear on the outside down the back straight, could not improve two wide between foes on the last turn and had little to show in the stretch running.
