Chart notes
A DIME FOR ME allowed to settle through the early going, raced in tandem with EM N HOLL'S FIESTA well behind the pace but staying out in the clear, kicked on from the seven-sixteenths pole, rallied wide through the far turn, kept on down the stretch, gradually wore down a weakening MEAN SHARON on the lead and was up in the final jump. MEAN SHARON was sent from the break, gained the lead with BONITA LEONA chasing, opened up a big lead on the turn when that foe dropped off the pace, remained well clear in the stretch under steady handling, started to shorten strides in the final sixteenth, was nailed in the final stride for the win. CLAY'S OPAL INDY lacked any speed and was far back in last down the backstretch, was kept to task and managed to pass a couple of straggles in the stretch to gain third. BONITA LEONA chased MEAN SHARON through the early fractions, weakened passing the three furlong pole and was not a factor from that point. EM N HOLL'S FIESTA got pinched at the start and was slow to get going, chased the leading pair down the backstretch from the middle of the strung-out pack then was under a ride before the three-eighths pole and had nothing to offer in the stretch run. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
