Chart notes
TOSEN WISH (IRE) was allowed to settle at the back of the pack, confidently waited behind a wall of four runners on the far turn ready to move when asked, bullied his way through a small seam four wide at the top of the lane, drifted out driving to the wire nearing the sixteenth pole and closed in quickly in deep stretch to get up in the shadow of the wire for the late running tally. NIAGARA SKYLINE seized command at the start, slowed the pace down dictating terms up top along the backside, continued to move well on the lead throughout the far turn, dug in when encouraged right-handed at the furlong pole but could not fend off the late rush by the winner nearing the wire. SECRET RESERVE prompted the pace outside in the first bend, was content to follow the frontrunner down the backstretch, chased the leader but could not close the margin in the final turn and kept on coming through the stretch but could only manage to save for the show award in the end. JOURNEYMAN travelled two wide between rivals in midfield, edged closer to the leaders when scrubbed on with five sixteenths to go to be in the mix three wide turning for home, relentlessly closed the gap through the stretch but lost a placing when crossing the finish line. IRONSTONE stalked near the rear in the beginning, started to rally circling runners four wide midway on the far turn, was pushed out by the winner five wide entering the stretch, fought on determinedly down the lane, lost its path being checked with a sixteenth remaining and could not factor in deep stretch. TWIN CITY broke in at the start, was nestled on the fence behind the pacesetter in the initial bend, settled in mid-division when shuffled back through the backstretch, re-rallied on the fence around the last turn but had little left for the drive and tired inside by the sixteenth pole. VOLCANIC was ahead of only one runner in the early stages, could not keep up in the far turn when roused and passed a weary foe in deep stretch. CRUMLIN LAD stalked three wide in the first turn in midfield, improved three deep outside along the backstretch to watch the lead duo at the half, was hard ridden three wide between rivals at the quarter pole but was going the wrong way and emptied out in upper stretch. TRAINERS CLAIM OF FOUL #7 IRONSTONE AGAINST #3 TOSEN WISH IN THE STRECH WAS DISALLOWED
