Chart notes
DEFENSE WINS was unhurried for a half, rallied nearing the quarter pole then circled four then five wide to the stretch and pushed to the front to win driving. PULPITS POWER had no speed, swung out four wide leaving the quarter pole and closed steadily for the place. FORDY G tracked the leaders to the quarter pole then bid inside to the stretch, dueled to mid stretch but was outkicked late. DELTA DELTA stalked the pace for a half, bid two wide to engage for the lead into the stretch but weakened in the final sixteenth. SOLDATNA had no speed, saved ground on both turns but lacked the needed late response. CONNECTER raced mid pack, then was three wide to the stretch but weakened in the final furlong. TOO TALL TO CALL had good speed, dueled three wide for a half mile then was overtaken and tired. THOUGHTS OF GOLD dueled inside of TOO TALL TO CALL, checked between runners nearing the quarter pole and gave way.
