Chart notes
STORM LEADER vied for the lead with TUCUM from along the inside, shook that one off entering the stretch to open a clear lead and maintained a safe advantage. SIDEWINDER SLICK raced close-up along the inside early, steadied slightly while in tight nearing the seven-sixteenths pole then continued to saved ground and finished well for second. TUCUM vied for the lead to the stretch with STORM LEADER, was unable to stay with that one during the drive but held on well for the show. STRAWBERRY WHISKY was forwardly placed while racing three-wide but lacked the needed late response. ALL CHROME saved ground while being unhurried but was unable to seriously threaten. HENNESSY'S SQUIRT was allowed to settle, angled out to be four-wide nearing the quarter pole but failed to be a factor.
