Chart notes
SPEIGHT'SPERCOMETE rated in the back of the pack from the three path, loomed up to bid five wide midway around the far turn, took command passing the quarter, drew clear from the two path in upper stretch, and held sway. CASTAGNO bumped with an outer foe at the start, stalked in the three path, was roused passing the three-eighths mark, got stymied in the five path at the top of the stretch, but angled in and ran on between foes in the final furlong to place. SAMARITANO bumped with an inner foe at the start, then was four wide around the first turn, prompted the pace in the four path down the backstretch, was coaxed to bid passing the three-eighths mark but got outkicked by an outer foe, floated out to the six path at the top of the lane, and kept on for show. MOMZA tracked under a hold along the rail, waited rounding the far turn, and made no impact. GENTLEMAN GERRY got a bit keen around the first turn and was held up in the two path down the backside, dropped back to angle out passing the three-eighths mark, fanned out to the eight path at the top of the lane, and did not factor. GRAND JOURNEY set the pace in the two path, but lost the lead midway around the far turn, and faded. COACH ABERNATHY trailed around the first turn, laid off the pace ion the four path down the backstretch and never threatened.
