Chart notes
CATCH THE DRIFT settled nicely into stride in mid-division on the fence along the backside, began to reach for more ground in the two path when coaxed at the three furlong pole, moved closer through the turn to loom boldly five wide turning for home and down the entire stretch wore down a stubborn front runner right at the wire for the win. SILENT AND SINFUL cleared from the outside to lead on the rail down the backside, rolled along setting a brisk pace up top on the turn, was scrubbed on clinging onto the lead at the quarter pole with rivals moving in, found another gear inside when encouraged right-handed in upper stretch but just missed holding on at the wire by a tight photo for the score. CLEARWATER BEACH tracked outside in the early going, moved in smartly while closing the gap in hand at the quarter pole, posed a threat three wide with runners on either side in upper stretch, could not go with the top two finishers with an eighth left to run but still finished up well in her debut to be a clear third at the wire. BEAUTIFUL SKY stalked three deep close to the back of the pack, co-trailed on the outside while under a ride around the bend, found seam having a clear lane four wide at the top of the stretch and ran on willingly, settling on the fringes in the end but way back of the winner when crossing the finish line. BLUE SPIRIT chased the pacesetter inside runners down the back straight, was roused for more but had little response backing away from the leaders throughout the turn and finished up evenly in the final furlong. PRINCESS ANASTASIA travelled in midfield three deep outside foes, was going the wrong way three wide around the bend, angled out widest in the six path straightening out for the drive to the wire but could not factor in the stretch running. VERI COLLECTED broke slow to be near the rear between rivals down the back straight, offered a brief turn of foot three wide at the three eighths marker, could not sustain the rally by the top of the lane and flattened out in the five path by upper stretch. CANDY ROSE had a slow start trailing the field down the backstretch, caught up to runners travelling on the fence by the quarter pole, shifted out in the two path for the stretch drive but lacked a rally down the lane.
