MY BUDDY B four then three wide in pursuit just off the top pair, came under coaxing near the quarter pole and took over narrow command swinging five wide at that station into upper stretch, had the rider switch the crop to the left hand a furlong out coming under growing threat to the outside, came out three paths to look his main danger in eye and bumped that rival a sixteenth from home, then dug in gamely to fend him off coming out an additional two paths as a tandem to the finish. RUNNINSONOFAGUN chased four then three wide down the backstretch before tucking two to two path through the turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, angled five to six wide into upper stretch, rallied to latch on the leader inside the eighth pole, got bumped askew a sixteenth out when MY BUDDY B came out under a left handed crop three paths to greet him, then dug in head to head to the finish coming out two more paths in concert with that rival but just missed at the wire. TWENTY FOUR MAMBA chased just off the inside and then along the inside coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, swung three to four wide into upper stretch and improved position to the finish to secure the show honors. LITTLE VIC cut the pace along the inside under prompting from TOP GUNNER to the outside, came under coaxing joined by MY BUDDY B nearing the quarter pole and yielded command before spinning just off the inside into upper stretch, then weakened in the drive. TOP GUNNER stumbled at the start, prompted the pace from the two path coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths, swung three wide into upper stretch and weakened. SURVEILLANCE broke awkwardly bobbling and lunging at the start and conceding three lengths to the front, chased along the inside and then just off the inside under a ride from the three-eighths, tipped four wide at the top of the lane and weakened in the stretch. SCOTLAND chased five then four wide before tucking three wide midway on the turn, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, angled six wide at the head of the stretch and weakened through to the finish. There was a Stewards' Inquiry into the stretch run focusing on MY BUDDY B and RUNNINSONOFAGUN in the stretch run. After review, it was deemed that MY BUDDY B had interfered with RUNNINSONOFAGUN at the sixteenth pole and MY BUDDY B was disqualified from first and placed second prior to the race being declared official.
