Chart notes
SUPERWOLF took command in a charge to the first turn, settled on the lead under mild pressure down the backstretch, surrendered the lead briefly entering the far turn, tipped out around the early bid of FORTISSIMO nearing the five-sixteenths pole to reclaim the lead, opened a clear advantage turning for home and persevered gamely to hold on in the lane. ED'S REWARD reserved off the quick early pace for the first half mile, commenced a steady rally into the final turn to be prominently placed turning for home and ground his way down the lane to nearly reel in the winner late. FORTISSIMO hustled early after breaking alertly to be one of several trying for the lead into the first turn, was taken in hand to settle to a stalking position down the backside, rallied with an early bid leaving the half mile pole to take the lead early in the far turn, could not sustain the bid quickly surrendering it back to the winner and kept-on through the lane to be best of the rest. TROUBLE IN MOTOWN unhurried in the early going to be well off the hot pace and steadily gained through the weaker rivals without impact on the top trio. WIN HERBIE WIN raced mid-pack throughout and failed to mount a closing bid. MAGIC MOTOWN was slow early to be the trailer and passed tiring rivals coming home. FULL SPECTRUM pressed the pace through for the first half mile and tired on the final bend. BOOTS MALONE chased the pace for a half mile, came up empty, eased in upper stretch and vanned off.
