Chart notes
BIG CROWD came away well from the inside with AMERICAN TANGO and went off to open a big lead outside of that foe, dueled through moderate fractions then took command when that rival dropped back, easily fended off a bid from EL DIAMANTE NEGRO on the turn, came into the stretch ahead by open lenghths and just continued to widen the margin to the wire. EL DIAMANTE NEGRO broke best and was first to the turn, then ceded the lead to BIG CROWD and AMERICAN TANGO, backed off and let those two battle on the front end, went back to challenge BIG CROWD for the lead when the latter backed off but was unable to keep up with the eventual winner, was kept to task and finished second, well clear of the next horse. SALTYBISCUIT lacked early speed, tracked at the front of the trailing trio for the first half mile, advanced some heading into the turn, kept on and was able to gain the third spot. AMERICAN TANGO raced in tandem with BIG CROWD as they opened up a big lead on the rest, dropped off the pace with three furlongs to run and had little to offer in the stretch. WEBSTER unhurried from the start, raced three wide down the backstretch and well behind the pacesetters, went into a drive from the half mile marker but could not muster a rally. BUCKY'S DREAM taken in hand and put in a rating hold from the start, raced at the rear coming out of the first turn then started to lose contact with the field down the backstretch fell further behind on the turn and was not persevered with late.
