CALIFORNIA SUNSET brushed an inner rival at the start, tracked in the four path, floated to the five path advancing turning for home, bid in the six path into the lane, dueled with an inner GIRL MATH in upper stretch, took light contact from her nearing the furlong grounds, traded firmer contact leaving that station, sparred gamely while neck and neck through the late stages and narrowly prevailed. GIRL MATH bumped an outer rival at the start, stalked along the inside, awaited racing room as an outer counterpart bid into the far turn, shifted out to the four path at the five sixteenths pole, bid along with an outer CALIFORNIA SUNSET while entering the lane in the five path, dueled with that one in upper stretch, leaned out and brushed her counterpart nearing the furlong grounds, bumped with her inside the final furlong, battled gamely through the late stages but missed. GOLDEN GAMBLE laid off of the pace tucking from the six path to the two path around the first turn, awaited racing room at the five sixteenths pole, moved to the three path into the lane and stayed on willingly between horses. QUEEN JUBILEE lacked speed in the five path, crept closer around the far turn, floated out to the seven path into the lane, ran on to vie for show with an inner rival in the final furlong, but was denied. MCKINZIE'S GLORY lacked speed along the inside, then in the three path around the far turn and failed to factor. GOING STEADY tracked along the inside, shifted out to the three path with five furlongs to go, bid three deep into the far turn, vied with an inner rival turning for home, but got outkicked by a pair of outer bidders in upper stretch and caved through the final furlong. LADY LIBERTY was bumped by rivals on both sides at the start, stalked in the three to two path into the backstretch, bid two wide along with an outer rival into the far turn, vied inside of a trio of rivals into the lane and faded. FAITH bumped an inner rival before being brushed by an outer foe at the start, set the pace in hand in the two path, but was headed by an outer bidding pair passing the three furlong pole and weakened shortly after. LIBERATION DAY lacked speed in the three to four path and was done early. THE RIDER OF GIRL MATH CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST CALIFORNIA SUNSET ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH RUN, BUT THE OBJECTION WAS DISALLOWED BY THE STEWARDS.
