Chart notes
HAMMERIN AAMER raced four wide into the clubhouse turn, stalked the pace three wide down the backstretch, made the lead past the seven sixteenth pole, quickly opened a daylight advantage, set the balance of the pace and won under strong handling. ONLY GET'N BETTER trailed through the first turn, was unhurried through the far turn, closed determinedly through the stretch in the five then four paths and got up for second. PEPPER PIKE had good early speed along the inside, loomed boldly at the half mile marker, kept on the balance of the trip but was outfinished. BOSS BEAR failed to menace. ROYAL AIR FORCE well placed, failed to respond. DESERT HIGHWAY had brief speed. SERVE REVENGE COLD made the lead soon after the start, set the pace for nearly five furlongs then stopped.
