Chart notes
PURE CLASS stalked the pace inside, tipped two wide near the quarter pole, split foes to take the lead in midstretch, vied inside of GROUCH from there and inched ahead under a steady drive. GROUCH pressed the pace two wide, took the lead nearing the five-sixteenths pole, came three wide into the lane, was collared near the eighth pole but fought on outside of the winner to the wire. LIFE IS PRECIOUS raced in range four wide, made a little progress in upper stretch, bumped with GOD'S TIMING near the eighth pole and stayed on for the show. GOD'S TIMING was reluctant to load, stalked the pace three wide, bumped near the eighth pole and weakened. SOUTH AMERICA disputed the pace along the rail an tired in the final furlong. SOUND OF THE BEAST stumbled at the start, angled out soon after, bumped with CANTARO near the half-mile pole, raced five wide around the turn and never threatened. CANTARO bumped nearing the half-mile pole, raced five wide and made little impact. ELECTRIC EEL was outrun while racing four wide.
