Chart notes

RICH GOLD was bumped leaving the start and broke a bit slowly, recovered and settled off of the early pace while never far back, tracked the modest pace through the backstretch run, loomed three to four wide into the far turn, rallied and vied for the lead heading to the furlong grounds, took command into the final sixteenth and held safely late under mild hand urging. HAPPY DOES forwardly placed to begin, got caught a bit in tight into the first turn and was shuffled back nearing the six furlong marker, was guided outside of rivals and tracked the modest pace while widest through the backstretch run, mounted a four wide bid into the far turn, took the lead into upper stretch then met the bid of RICH GOLD at the furlong marker, grudgingly gave way into the final sixteenth and held for second at the wire. GORDY'S BOY prominent in the early stages, saved ground into the first turn and attended to the modest pace along the backstretch run, battled inside of runners into the far turn and vied for the lead at the quarter pole, lost ground into upper stretch but stayed on past the furlong marker, was outfinished by the leading pair in deep stretch and was clear for third in a good effort. ECOLOGIST fractious prior to the start, reared leaving the gate and was away slowly, settled outside of rivals into the first turn, content to trail through the backstretch run, went two to three wide nearing the quarter pole, swung five wide into upper stretch, needed more in the final furlong and offered a mild late rally. POUR ON THE COLE allowed to settle, saved ground into the first turn, maintained a ground saving trip into the second turn, tipped three wide for the stretch drive and could not muster a late response. WELLSWORT (IRE) stalked the early pace three wide into the first turn, well placed into the backstretch run, chased three wide and between rivals into the far turn, was outkicked nearing mid-stretch and tired in the final furlong. BRONZE WARRIOR sent to assume early command, set a prompted pace into the backstretch run, carved out modest fractions nearing the half-mile marker, was overtaken into the second turn, chased into upper stretch and faded late. The timing splits for this race were as follows: 24.65, 49.09, 113.19, 138.52. PER RULING ECM2024-352 FROM HIWU, GORDY'S BOY WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM THIRD TO UNPLACED DUE TO A POSITIVE TEST.
