Chart notes
BRAHMS JR. shared the early lead between rivals, gained the rail on the bend, dueled two wide in the lane, shook free with a sixteenth left and held on. ZEE FIRE bumped with AMERICAN CAUSE shortly after the break, progressed from between horses, came four wide into the stretch, closed well, was too late but caught YOUNG MISCHIEF for second. YOUNG MISCHIEF advanced two wide on the bend, moved to the rail for the drive, soon vied for the lead but hung in the late going. FIVEO'CLOCKCHARLIE raced in contention along or just off the rail, improved position to midstretch, leveled off the last furlong but was easily best of the others. LAST GASP vied for the lead just outside BRAHMS JR. but gave way for the stretch run. AMERICAN CAUSE squeezed between rivals shortly after the start, was bumped off stride leaving the chute, was an early factor from outside but faded four wide on the bend. FEAR THE QUEEN was away slowly, chased from just off the rail, altered out five wide upper stretch and lacked a significant response. TUFF HEART faded from inside on the turn then changed paths several times looking for racing room in the lane. ALADANTE also bumped with AMERICAN CAUSE shortly after the break, altered in trying to keep a clear path inside CRUISER SONG leaving the chute, bumped hard with AMERICAN CAUSE, quickly recovered to press the early speed from outside, was three then four wide taking the turn and soon gave way from between rivals in the stretch. CRUISER SONG showed little.
