PASS THE BATON allowed to settle, was guided two to three wide into the first turn, content to trail through the backstretch run, loomed four to five wide nearing the quarter pole, took command into the stretch, kicked clear past the furlong marker and drew away while kept to task in the late stages. DRINKS AT THE CLUB settled outside of rivals into the first turn, improved position along the backstretch run, mounted a four wide bid at the quarter pole and vied for the lead into upper stretch, was outkicked by PASS THE BATON in the stretch drive and held well late for second. ELEGANT BOY settled off of the decent early pace, was well placed through the backstretch run, guided three wide into the far turn, got caught in tight and was boxed in nearing the quarter pole, shifted out into upper stretch, needed more in the stretch drive but stayed on well in the lane to earn the show honors. ALOHA CHROME took back off of the early pace and saved ground into the first turn, unhurried through the backstretch run, raced four wide into the far turn, came five to six wide into the stretch, lacked the needed response in the drive and passed tiring rivals in the late stages. RIGHT HAND RYDER forwardly placed away from the start, tracked the early pace three wide into the first turn, made a middle move along the backstretch and vied for the lead at the half-mile, battled while holding a narrow lead into the far turn, overtaken into upper stretch, was not able to keep pace in the final furlong and weakened. WESTERN CAPE was unhurried in the early going, saved ground into the first turn, saved all of the ground to the second turn, tipped two wide for the stretch drive, improved position into the lane but could not threaten the leaders late. MEEKING prominent away from the start, got shuffled back on the run to the first turn, stalked the pace inside of rivals into that bend, raced close up to the decent pace along the backstretch run, shifted outside of rivals approaching the far turn, vied for the lead three wide and between runners nearing the quarter pole, lost position into upper stretch, lacked a response in the stretch drive and faded. DEO hustled away from the start, vied for the early lead inside of rivals then took a narrow advantage into the first turn, set the pace into the backstretch run, lost the lead nearing the half-mile marker and stalked the pace approaching the second turn, dropped back nearing the quarter pole and tired in the stretch drive. SHAUN'S JAZZ broke alertly, was hard sent away from the start and vied for the lead approaching the first turn, ceded to DEO and stalked outside of that rival into the backstretch, took command at the five-eighths and led the field to the half-mile pole, battled into the far turn, was overtaken with three furlongs to go, stopped in upper stretch, was eased through the lane and walked off under his own power.
