Chart notes
LIGHTNING STRUCK was reserved off the early pace while racing three-wide, moved up to take the lead nearing the eighth pole and gradually drew clear. UNDER OATH vied for the lead with BRADY BOY into the stretch then responded to pressure and held on well for second. CENTRAL PARK saved ground while being allowed to settle, angled out to be five-wide leaving the three-sixteenths pole then came out slightly late to bump with D D S EXPRESS and finished well. D D S EXPRESS was off a step slow then unhurried, rallied six-wide into the stretch, came in slightly nearing the wire to bump with CENTRAL PARK and finished willingly. BRADY BOY vied for the lead with UNDER OATH from along the inside to the stretch and tired. LIBERTY FOREVER was reserved off the pace while racing two-wide but had no response when asked. THE STEWARD CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT NEARING THE WIRE AND THE RIDER OF D D S EXPRESS LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAIN CENTRAL PARK BUT AFTER VIEWING THE FILMS THE STEWARDS MADE NO CHANGE IN THE ORDER OF FINISH.
