Chart notes
ERNIE'S MARTINI never far back, closed rapidly four wide through the turn to make the lead before the quarter pole, set the balance of the pace and prevailed under mild right handed urging. CHARLESTON was taken outside near the five furlong marker, rallied five wide through the turn and into the stretch and finished clear for second. CLOAK AND DAGGER trailed through the turn and found his best stride late four wide. VERBIER never far back, finished determinedly two wide. POKER PARTNER chased the pace two wide into the turn, drew on even terms for the lead nearing the quarter pole, then faded late. GUT INSTINCT vied for the early lead along the inside, dropped back on the turn, came on again in upper stretch then weakened late. BUEHLER'S DAY OFF with the second flight three wide, was through after a half. AURA OF GOLD broke in front, set the pace with a clear lead into the turn and stopped in the stretch.
