Chart notes
SHARP CHARLIE challenged for the early lead, saved ground around the turn, drove clear down the lane and held on well for the win. GEAUX SUGAR vied for the early advantage, forwardly placed throughout, was outfinished for the win, but proved best of others. LAURI'S WISH raced within contention, made a late bid, proved no match for the top two, but got up for show. IRON IN THE FIRE raced evenly near the middle of the field, made a late gain and was outfinished for third. STOVALL pressed the early pace, raced four wide around the turn and weakened. DOCTORED DEAL was an early factor, saved ground and faded. FATHER GOOSE lacked early speed and was never a threat. BLACK SWORD void of early speed and was never close. GRUNT always raced near the back and was outrun.
