QUIET CHARM a step slow leaving the start, settled off of the decent early pace while never far back, crowded THUNDER OF ZION nearing the three furlong pole, was well placed into the turn and loomed from the inside at the quarter marker, vied for the lead into upper stretch then took command approaching the furlong grounds, kept to task into the final sixteenth and held well in the late stages to prevail. ELCONDOR broke alertly and vied for the early lead from inside of rivals, disputed the decent pace off of the rail entering the turn, led into upper stretch then was overtaken by QUIET CHARM nearing the furlong marker, battled past mid-stretch, was kept at bay in the final sixteenth and held well late for second. CITY OF CHAMPIONS vied for the early lead between rivals, disputed the decent pace four deep nearing the half-mile pole, pressed four wide along the turn, lost ground into upper stretch, re-rallied into the final sixteenth and missed late for second. EDDIE CROSSWIRE raced close up to the early pace, chased outside of runners and ran in pursuit five wide into the turn, lost ground nearing the quarter marker, ran evenly while widest into upper stretch, closed the gap into the final sixteenth but was outfinished in the late stages. THUNDER OF ZION took back leaving the start, tracked the decent early pace while never far back, was crowded by QUIET CHARM approaching the turn then checked when that rival took his path at the three-eighths pole, chased two wide to the quarter marker, offered a mild rally in the stretch drive but needed more late. SEIGE THE DAY away in good order, vied for the early lead from between runners, pressed the decent pace three wide and between foes into the turn, could not keep pace into upper stretch and tired in the final furlong. AN OBJECTION WAS LODGED BY THE RIDER OF THUNDER OF ZION AGAINST THE RIDER OF QUIET CHARM FOR INTERFERENCE NEARING THE THREE-EIGHTHS POLE. THE STEWARDS DETERMINED THAT QUIET CHARM DID NOT COST THUNDER OF ZION THE OPPORTUNITY OF A BETTER PLACING AND THAT NO CHANGE WOULD BE MADE.
