Chart notes
MARKED CASH was hustled up to press the pace on the outside racing up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn and kicked clear in the lane. THE BLACK raced off the pace early, navigated the turn from the three path and improved position in the stretch. JMARK chased the leader on the inside through the opening quarter, saved ground around the turn and kept on to the wire. CHEROKEE CHERRY stumbled leaving the gate, recovered to stalk the leader on the outside up the backstretch, came around the turn in the two path, was forced to check sharply when BELIEVE IN MARKING came into his lane and had no kick from there. BELIEVE IN MARKING led the way up the backstretch, continued around the bend in the two path and faded in the final furlong while drifting out. HANDMEDOWN D'ORO trailed the field up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn and was never a factor. A STEWARDS INQUIRY WAS MADE INTO THE STRETCH RUN. NO CHANGES WERE MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH.
