Chart notes
BELLA BETTINA lacked speed, circled horses on the turn, floated to the five path entering the stretch, closed determinedly under energetic urging and took the lead approaching the finish. MAJESTIC CREED sprinted clear soon after the break, set the pace near the inner rail, remained clear in mid stretch and gave way grudgingly. SPENCERIAN , bumped by MALIBU MOONSHINE leaving the starting gate, hugged the inner rail stalking the pace around the turn, eased out to the two path turning for home and flattened out. FLOGE chased the pace, came into the stretch in the three path and weakened. MALIBU MOONSHINE came in bumping SPENCERIAN leaving the starting gate, trailed to mid stretch, swung to the six path near the eighth pole and passed tired rivals. VICOUNTESS , a forward factor in the two path, chased the pace for a half mile and weakened. DEEDS OF LOVE saved ground around the turn and was not a factor. C C ROYAL , slow to begin, circled the turn four wide and weakened.
