Chart notes
BIG BAD BRASS rated close after angling in then took the nod past the half mile pole, drew clear toward the three eighths, raced at the rail on the far turn and dug in under steady encouragement to hold on. BIG JOE B settled in the three path the first turn, picked up the chase nearing the seven sixteenths pole, raced in the three and four paths on the far turn then eased out leaving the turn and drifted extremely wide through the lane, but got up for second the final stride. RUDD'S ROCKET rated close off the rail the first turn, gave chase leaving the seven sixteenths pole, raced off the rail on the far turn and dueled close through the stretch but was nipped from second the final stride. FORTUNATE SON broke a step slow and raced in the four path the first turn, gave chase from the three eighths pole, ran in the four path on the far turn and showed little in the lane. FUNKLE saved ground then gave chase nearing the three eighths pole, raced near the rail on the far turn and flattened in the lane. ROARK raced in the four path the first turn then picked up the chase from the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn about the five path, was herded out through most of the lane and flattened stride. MEGS GOLDEN BOY steadied between horses midway on the opening turn, gave chase leaving the seven sixteenths pole but weakened in the three path on the far turn. GRANDPA JOE saved early ground then moved to the outside into the backstretch, showed little response and raced wide on the far turn. MASON ALEXANDER was hustled along the rail early then rated the pace, gave up the lead then gave chase passing the half mile pole but gave way leaving the five sixteenths. Brother Jackson ran loose while the other horses were being loaded and was a late scratch.
