AMERICAN ADMIRAL settled off of the early pace while never far back, raced two to three wide and between runners into the first turn, was well placed into the backstretch, tracked the modest pace three wide nearing the half-mile marker, roused into the far turn, loomed at the quarter marker and vied for the lead into upper stretch, raced on even terms with LAMMAS to the furlong marker, responded to firm urging and took a narrow lead into the final sixteenth, dug in into deep stretch and held at the wire for a determined win. LAMMAS (GB) away in good order, settled just off of the early pace and saved ground into the first turn, was well placed into the backstretch run, tracked the modest pace heading to the half-mile pole, saved all of the ground into the far turn, was roused nearing the quarter pole and vied for the lead into upper stretch, battled on even terms with AMERICAN ADMIRAL nearing the furlong grounds, gamely dueled into the final sixteenth, was held at bay by the determined winner in deep stretch and was clear of the rest for second. DE' MEDICI broke alertly, was sent to assume early command and showed the way into the first turn, carved out modest fractions through the backstretch run, came under pressure into the second turn and lost the lead at the quarter pole, yielded to the top pair into the stretch drive and held well late for third. DRUIDIC prominent away from the start, went up and stalked the early pace outside of DE' MEDICI, attended to the modest pace through the backstretch run, vied three wide and between runners into the second turn, lost position at the quarter pole, could not match strides with the top pair into the stretch and was outfinished late for third. MELANIE'S TIGER settled off of the early pace while never far back, raced three to four wide into the first turn, was widest into the backstretch run then tucked in nearing the half-mile pole, chased the leaders two to three wide into the far turn, was outrun into upper stretch and lacked a late response.
