Chart notes
BROOKLYN GUY was allowed to settle on the inside, advanced nearing the quarter pole while saving ground, continued on the inside to the furlong marker and then angled out for racing room and surged late to get up to prove best under left handed crop urging. SKIMBLE SHANKS was reserved early, then made a quick early move to track the leaders three wide, then made a three wide bid to vie for command on the outside by the quarter pole, came four wide off the bend and gained a short lead nearing the furlong marker and moved in but was caught late. COUPERIN vied for the lead on the inside and dug in gamely in the drive before giving way late grudgingly, good effort. SOUPER ROYAL MOON vied for the lead two wide and then set the pace by the five eighths marker while in the three to four path, then moved in by the half mile marker and vied for command two wide and between rivals by the quarter pole and then weakened in the lane. MIDNIGHT AMBITION was settled three to four wide and then stopped.
