YANKEE HUMOR saved ground on the turn chasing the pace, swung outside in upper stretch, gained the lead inside the sixteenth pole and drove clear. SURROUNDEDBYANGELS sprinted to the early lead, set the pace off the rail around the turn, was clear near the eighth pole, drifted out and gave way. MONGOLIAN SPRING , three wide on the turn, angled in a bit in mid stretch and finished willingly. GOLD EXPRESS , well off the rail on the turn, chased the pace, angled in in upper stretch and weakened. APLOMBADO , outrun, drifted wide leaving the turn. SUN LA GOLD remained near the inner rail most of the race and dropped back.
