Chart notes
SOUPER SUCCESS was content to stalk outside in the third flight early on, started to pick up runners three wide commencing at the three eighths pole, circled a round the field around the turn, moved to the lead in the three path with a furlong left to go and going away for the win comfortably when crossing the finish line. SHAKOO MAKOO took command from the onset setting a brisk pace down the back straight, rolled along up top unopposed through the turn, had no answer in the two path when the winner swept on by at the furlong marker and showed late resolve to stay on for the runners up share at the wire. MISTER BANJOMAN was washy prior to the start, tracked between foes down the backstretch, could not keep up to the top two runners around the bend, shifted out five wide for the d rive and showed grit down the lane to get up in the final few strides for third place. GALVASTON bobbled slightly on the break, settled on the fence near the rear down the back straight, made little headway taking the short way around the turn, shifted outside at the quarter pole, angled out widest in the six path in upper stretch, battled outside for the show money to the wire but was just nodded out late and settled on the fringes in the end. NAPA SPIRIT (IRE) tracked three deep down the backstretch, took closer order chasing the pacesetter around the bend, was in the hunt in the three path between foes in upper stretch, could not find more late and yielded by the sixteenth pole on the fence. SPITE STORE broke with the field on the start, then was slow into stride climbing at the back of the pack along the backside, lost touch through the turn and could not factor in the stretch running galloping across the finish line.
