Chart notes
PROTEGE bumped an inner rival at the start, prompted outside of the leader, bid along with an outer pair around the turn, inched ahead in upper stretch and held firm late. GAMBLERS TAIL was bumped between rivals and pinched back at the start, trailed in the four path, tipped out to the six path into the lane, ran on slowly closing in on the leaders in the final furlong, ranged up to the top pair late and gained place at the wire while failing to reel in the leader. ZECA DIABO laid off of the pace four wide, ranged up to bid turning for home, failed to maintain even terms with an inner rival in upper stretch, yet kept on to sustain his challenge as an outer rival crept closer in the late stages, but was kept at bay by the leader and got nailed for place. BEBEDOURO bumped an outer rival at the start, tracked three wide, bid between horses turning for home but yielded in midstretch. EPIC BATTLE bumped with an outer rival at the start, laid close up along the inside, stalked from the pocket around the turn, chased two wide into the lane and lacked a bid. ON MY HONOR tracked in the three path and between horses, chased in the four path into the lane and failed to factor. ROCKETEIGHTYEIGHT bumped with an inner foe leaving the gate, set a pressured pace early on, got headed while inside of a trio of bidders at the five sixteenths pole and weakened. THE RIDER OF GAMBLERS TRAIL CLAIMED FOUL AGAINST PROTEGE ALLEGING INTERFERENCE AT THE START, BUT THE OBJECTION WAS DISALLOWED BY THE STEWARDS.
