Chart notes
MR. PENNY PINCHER well placed and inside, saved ground through the turn, came through inside the leader, made a steady gain, edged ahead at the eighth pole, shook clear late and lasted under steady pressure. DUNE ROAD unhurried, looped up three and four wide through the turn, came four wide into the stretch, angled widest for clear racing room, made a steady gain and did not have enough late. RUSSIAN HAMMER mid pack, gained position on the two path through the turn, came three wide into the stretch and flattened late, holding the show. HABERDASHERY mid pack, held position three wide through the turn, fanned four wide into the stretch and evened out. HAP'S VICTORY set the pace off the rail, shook clear through the turn, then weakened the final furlong. BAILAMOS well placed, lost some position on the two path through the turn, came three wide into the stretch and ran evenly. INDULGE passed tiring rivals. NEON DEION broke through the gate pre start, stalked the pace inside, vied through the turn, then faded into the stretch. CALZONE was never involved.
