Chart notes
GOLDEN BOSS broke through the gate prior to the start, forced the issue on the rail along the backside, was reined in to track just off the pacesetter at the half, shifted outside into the turn, re-engaged going back to the rail with five sixteenths from home, spurted away two wide taking command in upper stretch and held on comfortably but by a diminishing margin at the wire. SPEEDY FREEZE trailed the field in the early going, began to pick up runners moving well on the fence at the half, closed the gap taking the short way around the bend, shifted out to be four wide gaining in mid-stretch and was closing steadily on the winner late but could not get there in time. MAGIC TOKEN had a stalking role close to the rear down the backside, made little impact two wide just off the fence around the bend, shifted to the three path for the stretch run and closed in belatedly between horses in the final eighth to get up being a distant third at the finish line. AMI'S GIRL stalked near the rear, made little progression at the back of the pack throughout the turn, skimmed the fence turning for home and finished up willingly inside runners in the final furlong to settle on the fringes in the end. UNHEARD had an ideal spot alone watching the contesting duo down the backside, moved in around the turn to be in the mix just behind the leader in the two path at the quarter pole, chased the winner in vain in upper stretch and weakened in the final sixteenth losing some placings late. PEAK EARNINGS (GB) was away sharply getting the lead outside from the start, edged away for a clear lead by the half, was drifting out still up front with three furlongs to go leaving the rail open, conceded the lead to the eventual winner inside by midturn, angled out five wide shortening stride in upper stretch and retreated down the lane.
