Chart notes
FROSTY THE GIANT sped to the early lead, moved to the inner rail on the first turn, remained along the rail and increased his advantage through the stretch under urging. LAST SECOND LOUIE , steered inward entering the first turn, chased the pace two wide and held the place. STATELY ORDER raced in the three path on both turns, angled in near the three sixteenths pole and failed to sustain his bid. PORTIS trailed for six furlongs, swung to the six path in upper stretch and passed tired horses. EVERY FOUR YEARS , checked when rank in tight quarters approaching the first turn, swung outside, stayed four wide around both turns and tired through the strtetch. CORONATION TIME , well off the inner rail down the backstretch, was four deep leaving the far turn and tired. BALI ROLLING TIDE was outrun. BETTER WATCH IT hugged the inner rail leaving the backstretch and around the far turn then gave way. THE HEIGHTS , a forward factor along the inner rail down the backstretch and on the far turn, chased the pace to the stretch and faltered.
