Chart notes
RUNAWAY JOKE stumbled in the hindquarters at the start and was off a half-step slow, moved up between horses to get the lead then showed the way, was coaxed along in the two path on the turn, responded well when put to a strong-hand ride in upper stretch, was given one pop of a right-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and held under a strong hand-ride from that point to the finish. HE'S GOT IT settled off the pace, moved out inside the five-eighths pole, was roused in the two path on the turn, chased the winner under a drive in the stretch and willingly earned the place. REFUAH tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid near the seven-sixteenths pole, vied in the three then four path on the turn, dropped back under a drive in upper stretch and was outfinished while clear for the show. BRICK AMBUSH broke a step slow, was urged along off the pace, chased in the four to five path on the turn, pursued the winner under a drive into the final furlong and weakened. DOLLY'S BANK pressed the pace on the inside of a foe, was carried in near the five-eighths pole, dropped back late on the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, moved out inside the furlong marker and came up empty.
