Chart notes
GOLDEN RIVER showed good speed from the break and vied between horses for the early lead, edged ahead passing the half-mile marker then opened up on the field at the top of the stretch and won clear under steady handling. RIGHT HAND RYDER was hustled from the break, vied for the lead racing on the inside, was unable to go on with GOLDEN RIVER from the five-sixteenths pole but kept to task and came back on in deep stretch, could not catch the winner but was well clear of the third horse. I AM AMADEO was last away from the gate, trailed the field down the backstretch, moved into contention through the turn, angled out to the five path turning for home, altered course near the eighth pole to get around MOMO'S KIDDO and finished well to get third. MOMO'S KIDDO broke a step slow then was hard to place behind the pace battle, moved out to the four path, settled down, advanced through the turn, loomed a threat in upper stretch then weakened in the final furlong and was passed for third in the final yards. FORMIDABLE THREAT broke well and was three wide in a battle for the early lead, dropped out of it at the quarter pole and tired in the stretch. SIR LUCAS broke well then raced five wide down the backstretch, made a mild move still wide through the turn but could not sustain and could not improve in the stretch.
