Chart notes
SIMPLY VALID set a pressured pace to the top of the lane, shook free in upper stretch and held the closer safe late in the drive. BLUE MAX reserved off the pace while saving ground along the inside, rallied in the stretch finishing well to be gaining late as second best. EXCITEMENT tracked the leaders through the turn to be prominently placed turning for home and lacked a closing kick failing to gain on the winner. ELLIOT THE DRAGON stalked the pace into the turn, rallied to threaten at the quarter pole and flattened out in the stretch. MATTHEW'S PATRIOT failed to menace. GAPPER bobbled leaving the gate and trailed until late in the lane never posing a threat. UNEEDTOCOMEHOME pressed the early pace and faded.
