Chart notes
GALA STAR tapered in leaving the three quarter pole and stalked the pace, took aim at the seven sixteenths pole, dueled for the lead approaching the five sixteenths, dueled clear midway on the far turn and dug in determinedly to hold off RICK'SWARMHEART through later yards. The latter stalked from the four path the opening turn, picked up the chase leaving the seven sixteenths and rounded the far turn about the five path, dueled to clear second mid-stretch but was outfinished later yards. BIG MO GEE was forced in early then rated just off the pace and off the rail the first turn, gave chase from the seven sixteenths pole, rounded the far turn off the rail and relented in the stretch duel for second. GUILTED stalked from the three path the first turn, picked up the chase leaving the seven sixteenths pole, raced in the four path on the far turn and weakened in the lane. CANDY MAN MARTIN was forced in and steadied from tight quarters at the rail in the vicinity of the three quarter pole then saved ground and showed little response through the backstretch. BAYTOWN SUNDANCE angled to the inside and rated the early pace, came under pressure leaving the seven sixteenths pole, was met approaching the five sixteenths, dropped back at the rail midway on the far turn and weakened in the lane. TREE OF DEM settled back off the rail the first turn, eased out into the backstretch, showed little response and saved ground on the far turn.
