Chart notes
OPTIC WAY went to the front then showed the way, dictated terms in the two path on the turn, responded well when asked for his best in upper stretch and drew off under strong urging. WINTER'S GHOST was well placed towards the front, chased inside on the turn, jostled with a rival into upper stretch and narrowly earned the place while no match for the winner. FRONT MAN settled on the outside, moved closer with six furlongs to run, was urged in the five then four path on the turn, chased the winner in the stretch and just missed the place while clear for the show. CO CONSPIRATOR stalked the pace on the outside of the leader, chased in the three then two path on the turn, jostled with an opponent into upper stretch and weakened. CLASSIC MARK broke out at the start, tracked the pace on the outside, chased in the four then three path on the turn and tired. PRINCE OF JOY settled off the pace, dropped back leaving the backstretch, went around the turn in the three then four path, remained on his inside lead in the drive and came up empty. BRONX BOMBER came outward at the start, settled on the outside then inside of a foe starting inside the three-quarter pole, went three then two wide on the turn and failed to respond. BERT BERT BERT bobbled at the start and was off slow, dropped well behind the rest of the field, saved ground on the turn and trailed.
