Chart notes
NORTHERN RUBY stalked near the rear ahead of only the troubled starter along the backside, moved up in the two path between runners in the tracking group through the turn, loomed boldly four wide straightening out for home and outfinished two inside foes in the final furlong to edge away for the win in the final few strides. ALBERTA BE MINE was nestled on the rail watching the contesting duo down the backstretch, dropped back when stuck behind a retreating rival on the fence at the three furlong pole, rallied in the three path at the quarter pole, shifted to the rail full of run with a furlong to go and came home strongly inside foes late but it was not enough to get past the winner in deep stretch. SEATTLE CAUSEWAY broke out on the break, prompted the issue outside early on, took over control poking her head in front outside at the half, opened up getting to the rail with three eighths to go, comfortably continued on through the turn, was clinging to the lead in the two path with rivals bearing down on either side at the furlong marker, could not fend off the closers late and faded nearing the finish line to be a clear third. KNOW HOW (GB) was pinched between horses to trail after the start, started to rally picking up runners three wide at the three-furlong pole, kept the sustained run through the turn to be in the seven path for the stretch run and finished up mildly to the wire to be a fringe player when crossing the finish line. FRERET had a slim lead inside on the break, pressed inside by the half, could not go with the leader three furlongs out giving way, was hard ridden just to maintain position saving ground on the bend, had a chance for a small piece of the prize in upper stretch but weakened in the final furlong inside horses. EMERALD LAKE settled three deep in mid-division along the backside, offered a mild run four wide around foes from the three furlong pole until the quarter marker, angled out six wide for the drive to the wire but retreated between horses in the final furlong. CLEOMENES broke in at the start, travelled in midfield between foes along the backside, chased the frontrunner in the three path in the second flight throughout the turn, shifted to the five path for the stretch running but emptied out in upper stretch.
