Chart notes
ZIPPY GIZMO was sandwiched between horses on the start, stalked on the rail ahead of a couple of rivals in the early stages with the field quite spread out along the backside, could see the pack at the half, commenced a rally shifting out four wide around foes at the quarter pole, angled six wide full of run at the top of the lane and easily picked up the embattled front two rivals leaving the eighth pole to draw off with authority at the finish line. FANORE (IRE) broke out on the start, chased the quick pace outside into the first turn, was intent down the backside taking the lead at the five eighths pole, disposed of the early speed foe edging away at the three eighths marker, began to shorten stride clinging onto the lead in mid-stretch while under urging, had nothing left to fend off the winner in the last sixteenth of a mile but did stay on stubbornly to best the rest at the finish line. SILVER SMOKE stumbled, breaking inwards on the start, quickly recouped to take this field on the fence into the first turn setting a brisk pace, relinquished the lead inside in early backstretch, tried to re-engage at the half but was soon repelled by the three furlong marker, tenaciously tried to come back again three wide on the wrong lead getting leg weary in upper stretch but did manage to fight on holding for the show award at the wire. LIL BIT GANGSTA was the only one to leave the gate unscathed at the break, tracked outside in the second flight around the first turn, settled in mid-pack in the two path along the backside, tried to offer a rally three wide between horses at the three eighths pole but was making little headway, angled out four wide for the drive and finished up one paced galloping along down the lane to get up for the minor share in the end. CALUSA DONNIE was antsy in the gate, veered in on the break to trail in the early going, improved on the fence down the backstretch, was hard ridden three eighths out on the rail battling for the third place share around the final turn, had little left for the stretch running and weakened in the last sixteenth of a mile. SAMMY STONE was squeezed between horses in a clustered start, recovered to watch the top pair who had a match race to themselves in the early stages, was urged in the two path dueling with three others for the show award it seemed around the last turn and had nothing left for the drive emptying out three wide in upper stretch.
