Chart notes
RAY'S EMPIRE broke inward bumping GRAND ZHOUL at the start, matched stride for the lead two wide into the stretch, drifted in when struck with a right handed crop nearing the furlong marker bumping PARTY POOPER, the rider switched to a left handed crop then edged clear late. PARTY POOPER dueled for the lead along the inside into the stretch, was bumped by the winner nearing the furlong marker causing his rider to check and held on for second. GRAND ZHOUL was bumped at the start, stalked the early pace, began to close ground in the four path in upper stretch, lugged in causing his rider to check over the heels of the winner near the furlong marker then finished with good courage. NATIONAL STORY failed to menace. GRAY DAY was no factor. BIG TIME FLIRT lost contact with his field on the backstretch, pulled up in upper stretch and was walked off. THE RIDER OF PARTY POOPER LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER OF RAY'S EMPIRE FOR INTERFERENCE NEAR MID STRETCH. AFTER REVIEW THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED RAY'S EMPIRE AND PLACED HIM SECOND.
