Chart notes
MR. MARSHALL bobbled on the break, quickly recovered to take control on the rail by the five furlong marker down the backstretch, moved well loose up top throughout the turn and cruised home unchallenged in the stretch drive. SPEEDY PAL was away alertly to have a brief lead outside at the start, shadowed the pacesetter down the back straight, tracked outside with company inside around the bend making little gain on the frontrunner, chased the winner in vain down the lane but did fight on gamely to win the secondary battle in deep stretch. RY PIE had a good spot watching the contesting duo in the beginning, moved in taking closer order on the r ail to track the pacesetter at the three eighths marker, was no match for the winner in upper stretch who had it his own way, dueled on the fence for the runners up share in upper stretch but weakened in the final seventy yards to hold for the show money instead. SPEEDEEMAN broke out at the start, stalked between horses in the last group along the backside, travelled three wide around the turn at the rear, shifted out to the four path for the drive to the wire and finished up mildly in the late stages to settle on the fringes in the end. RYE'S MY GUY was brushed inside on the break, settled three deep on the outside watching the top trio down the backstretch, moved up to the second flight in mid-pack on the outside at the half, was hard ridden making little advance on the turn, had little left straightening out for home and weakened between rivals in mid-stretch. I'M A BOURBON GIRL had a stalking trip on the r ail in the early going, saved ground around the turn making little progression inside runners, skimmed the fence in upper stretch to be in the conversation for a minor share but yielded by the furlong marker.
