Chart notes
UNION TRAIL set the pace in the two path, was roused passing the quarter, dug in turning into the lane, and inched clear in the final furlong. CUBAN THUNDER (IRE) bumped with an inner foe at the start, stalked in the four path, loomed up three wide passing the quarter, ran on to bid at the top of the stretch, but was repelled in the final furlong by the winning pacesetter. KID CAIRO laid in range in the two path, waited along the rail around the far turn, angled out to the four path at the top of the lane, and finished evenly. PLAYGROUND LEGEND bumped with an outer foe at the start, laid up close in the three path but faded in the four path down the stretch. SHERIF ALI tracked in the two path, was driven four wide around the far turn, swung six wide turning into the lane, but flattened. IL SICILIANO trailed inside early and did not threaten. MUGATU raced off the pace in the three path and never menaced.
