Chart notes
CURLIN GUNNER , forwardly placed three wide, bid between foes around the final turn, vied under a hearty ride past the five sixteenths, shook clear leaving the three sixteenths, encountered an outside threat from SECRET TREASURE in deep stretch but dug in tenaciously under solid handling to turn that one away. SECRET TREASURE , in a bit close at the break, regrouped and edged up four to five wide to reach a stalking spot into the backstretch, ranged up four deep past the five sixteenths, failed to initially quicken with the winner to his inside, dug in to come back on through the final furlong, kept on gamely but was denied. VILALUZ , rated along between rivals into and through the backstretch, raced three wide into the lane, edged up between horses past the three sixteenths and continued on willingly. MASTER MUNNINGS saved ground stalking the pace, was under pressure into the stretch but came up empty. RETURN FIRE cleared early then dropped in to secure the inside, was joined soon into the backstretch, sparred through the backstretch run and second turn, stayed willingly as the winner cleared past the three sixteenths then weakened through the final sixteenth. PORTIS pulled his way forward and joined RETURN FIRE into the backstretch, dueled then battled between rivals leaving the three eighths, failed to kick on in upper stretch and weakened.
